Privacy Policy for Your Bar
Last updated: 2026-05-16
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Your Bar handles information when you use the application.
Your Bar does not require user accounts and does not sell user data or use user data for advertising.
- The app does not request personal information such as your name, email address, or location for normal app use.
- Ingredients, recipes, photos, ratings, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device by default.
- Some optional features send selected data off-device only when you choose to use them, as described below.
Google Drive Sync (Optional)
Your Bar offers an optional Google Drive synchronization feature to back up and restore your data across devices.
- When you sign in with Google, authentication is handled securely by Google.
- The app uses access only to your app-specific storage (
appDataFolder) in Google Drive.
- Your data is stored in a private app folder that is not visible or accessible outside the app.
- Your Bar does not access, read, or modify any other files in your Google Drive.
- Your Bar does not receive or store your Google account email or profile information.
This feature is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time by signing out.
Recipe Sharing (Optional)
Your Bar lets you create share links for cocktails so other people can open or import the recipe.
When you choose to share a cocktail, the app sends the selected recipe data to Your Bar’s sharing API at https://api.yourbar.app. This may include:
- cocktail name, description, instructions, garnish, video link, glassware, method, tags, and servings;
- ingredient names, amounts, units, notes, optional/garnish/process/serving flags, tags, ABV, synonyms, barcode values, and ingredient relationship identifiers when available;
- the app version and platform used to create the share;
- cocktail or ingredient images when the recipe uses uploadable photos.
Shared recipe links are public to anyone who has the link. Do not put sensitive personal information in recipe text, ingredient fields, notes, video links, barcodes, or photos if you do not want that information to be visible to link recipients. Shared links may include an expiration time when provided by the sharing service.
Opening someone else’s shared recipe link fetches the shared recipe data from Your Bar’s sharing API so the app can preview and import it.
2. Crash Reporting and Diagnostics
The app uses Sentry for crash reporting and performance monitoring.
Sentry may collect technical diagnostic information, such as:
- App version
- Device model
- Operating system version
- Crash stack traces
- Basic runtime state needed to diagnose crashes or failed operations
This information is used only to improve app stability and performance.
No personally identifiable information (PII) is intentionally collected.
3. Data Sharing
Your Bar:
- ❌ Does not sell user data
- ❌ Does not use data for advertising
- ❌ Does not require an account for normal app use
Data may be processed by third-party or external services only for the optional features and diagnostics described in this policy:
- Crash diagnostics data is handled by Sentry in accordance with their privacy policy.
- Google Drive synchronization is handled via Google’s APIs and subject to Google’s privacy policies.
- Recipe share links and uploaded share images are handled by Your Bar’s sharing API at
https://api.yourbar.app.
4. Data Storage and Security
- All user-created data is stored locally on the device by default.
- If Google Drive sync is enabled, a copy of your data is stored in your Google Drive app-specific folder.
- If recipe sharing is used, the selected shared recipe data and uploaded share images are stored by the sharing service so the public link can work.
- If you uninstall the app, local data is removed.
- Data stored in Google Drive remains in your account until you delete it.
- Shared recipe data may remain available through the share link until the sharing service expires or removes it.
5. Children’s Privacy
Your Bar does not target children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal data from children.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
